June 2009 - Innovation and Growth Team launched
Solent Innovation and Growth is an exciting new project to support the most innovative businesses across south and mid-Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Building on the success of the Southampton, Isle of Wight and Solent Enterprise Hubs as well as Solent Synergy, these four organisations are coming together in a strong partnership that will make it easier for your business to connect with key innovation resources.
Funded by the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA), the partners include the Universities of Portsmouth, Solent and Southampton; Business Link Hampshire & Isle of Wight; the 11 Local Authorities within the Partnership for Urban South Hampshire (PUSH) and the Isle of Wight Council; and a private sector champions of innovation such as BDO Stoy Hayward, Blake Lapthorn, Bowman Power, Grant Thornton, Innovative Physics, Paris Smith, VT Group, Xyratex and Yellowfin.
Our objective is to support businesses looking to drive growth through innovation, not just in new products or technological breakthroughs, but also in new business models, processes and services. These businesses will make the biggest impact on growing our local economy, creating the jobs and wealth that will help our sub-region compete internationally. We will continue providing personal support from experienced business support directors, plus mentors and coaches. We will also implement a range of information, knowledge exchange and networking events aimed at providing senior business people such as yourself with new innovation and growth opportunities. These activities compliment any existing programmes to avoid duplication.
