Summary: Scope
This workshop will demonstrate how specialist software tools such as those supplied by The MathWorks
software company can provide an integrated environment for analysis, simulation and implementation of
complex non-linear dynamic systems.
Each delegate will have a workstation for hands-on experience in the morning session.

Anyone involved in analysing or designing systems with complex dynamic behaviour, in fields such as
• Control engineering
• Mechanical engineering – automotive, machine tools
• Electrical engineering – rotating and linear machines, electronic systems
• Power systems and network engineering

Software used
MATLAB® is a high-level technical computing language and interactive development environment created to
carry out data analysis, visualisation and numerical computation faster than traditional languages such as C++.
Simulink® provides an interactive graphical environment and a customisable set of block libraries that let you
accurately design, simulate, implement, and test all kinds of time-varying systems
