Summary: Six Firms Pitching for between £150K and £500K
1. Womens lingerie online - 20 months trading - £200K EIS
Fast growth multi branded online fashion retailer selling lingerie and swimwear.– 10600 purchases to date, with 100% year on year growth.
The company stock and sell more than 50 stylish and fashionable top brands and new hard to find brands from around the world. The business is marketing led and distinctively different within its sector, with a strong personality and clear proposition.
Highly experienced management team with commercial, lingerie and online fashion backgrounds have invested £407k, major shareholder and Director has developed 2 AIM online fashion retailers with market cap circa £90m.
325k of second round pre-IPO finance has been committed by 3 very successful external entrepreneurs with retail backgrounds, £175k is being sought to complete round. The funds will be used to greatly increase the marketing drive, marketing staff, broaden the ranges and finance the business to profitability in Q4 2008, with a potential AIM listing in 2009.
2. Fishmonger online - 18 months trading - £150K EIS
UK's Number 1 internet fishmonger with £1m sales under our belt.
We sell super premium seafood for home eating.
We have been financed to date via three angel offerings totalling £550,000. We have some very sophisticated shareholders.
We are seeking new shareholders to join with existing shareholders for a £150,000 "Round 4".
3. Cyclists & Multi-Sports Folding Helmet - trading - £250k EIS
Stash is a revolutionary cyclists & multi-sports folding helmet which packs away instantly, for easy storage. It is a CEN tested with patents granted across the USA/EU. The USA/EU sales for conventional bicycle helmets are c30 million units PA. At a retail price of £49.99 Stash is competitive with mid-priced helmets. First sales have been made and 1,000 units are in production. The experienced directors have extensive international trade-sales contacts. £340,000 was raised in 2006, funding prototypes, patenting, testing, tooling, and establishing an ISO 9001 production line. Projected PBT is c £7m over five years - exit route by trade sale, MBO or flotation. 1.7% of the market is targeted. £250,000 funding is sought for a 15% stake. This is required for a fast-track international product launch, and as a trading fund for rolling batch production through to sustained profitability.
4. Food Waste Digester - trading - £300K - EIS
The disposal of household food waste, in an environmentally and economical way, is now a necessity on account of E. U. legislation. Green Cone Ltd markets and distributes the only patented garden Food Waste Digesters that can dispose of all food waste, including meat and bones, in householder's gardens.
The units are already an integral part of many local authorities waste strategies where they are distributed at subsidised prices. There is also growing interest from the retail chains as the public seeks to address " Alternate Weekly Collection" and the anticipated " Pay As You Throw " policies of councils. Overseas markets in the U S and Europe show great promise. Overall the market is similar in size to that of traditional garden composters and at present there is no competition.
£3 million has been spent on development and the Company is now starting to trade profitably; however additional capital of £300,000 is required to support the increasing sales and in particular the overseas markets.
5. Digital video systems utilising IT infrastructure - trading - £200K
The company designs installs and maintains sophisticated multi-site integrated security systems. In addition it has the exclusive UK rights to market, sell and distribute a range of Digital CCTV products, designed and manufactured by Advanced Research & Technology. This exclusive CCTV range of products ( Netwatch, MIST, ViEWS ) has enormous potential and is a market leader in terms of software features and potential future development. These products form part of an integrated multi-site networked security system.
6. Data backup, recovery and archive software - trading - £500K - EIS pending
Our software and services are used by companies like National Express Coaches and Tenon Group to protect their most critical business asset – their data. We have a profitable business with £615k turnover and 80% growth. We have our own IP, market leading products and operate in a £600m pa UK market with global opportunity.
To date £160k has been invested and we have financed cash flow with a SFLG loan. £500k is now being sought as a first round of investment to accelerate our marketing capability and extend our sales growth, towards a future trade sale exit.
