Summary: This event is designed to inform local marine companies of the availability and use of technology in the marine industry and the opportunities available for collaboration with the Haslar Marine Technology Centre. The event also takes place in the context of the significant marine activities of SeaBritain 2005 – in which MareNet will play a key role as the year unfolds.
Guest speakers include Lynda Dine of Gosport Borough Council, who will highlight the Council's ongoing support for MareNet. Arthur Monks of the Solent Enterprise Hub will explain how businesses can gain local expert support to develop their enterprises and ideas, including featuring some local success stories. He will also explain the SION Business Angels Service and how interaction with the Haslar site can also be achieved via the Solent Hub. Ian Grant of QinetiQ will then provide an overview of the Haslar Marine Technology Park's capabilities and how external businesses can access the technologies and facilities available, through co-operation or joint projects. He will highlight a case study where a local SME got involved with Haslar and benefited from the co-operation.
You will also be given a platform to discuss your views and the type of support you require to make your business more competitive.
The event will also provide you with an opportunity to:
* Network with peers and industry colleagues
* Develop working partnerships for the benefit of all parties
* Voice your thoughts on the type of services and support you need
* Understand and promote best practice
