3rd December 2002 - Business and Enterprise
DTI inititives encourage us to keep skills in the region
Portsmouth Technopole is a new business incubator in the south east. The centre is run by Oxford Innovation Limited and has been developed with support from Portsmouth City Council, The University of Portsmouth, The South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) and the European Union.
Our main hurdle as Business Incubators is the lack of understanding and awareness as to just how much we can help companies in their early development. The business population need to be informed of the benefits of working in an environment where they can focus on their core business and have knowledge based network in their specific field at their fingertips. Growth and success rates of companies are born out by the incubation ethic which can only be realized in mass by education.
The event held on December 4th involved University Lecturers in entrepreneurship, specialist status schools, business mentors and government organizations comming to the Technopole to discuss business incubation and its impact on business and academic bodies in the south east.
The champagne on the top floor was greatly recieved by all as the networking continued till late.
