IDDRA is an independent research and consultancy company which specialises in the economic analysis of fisheries policy and fisheries management systems. Founded in 1999, there are three Directors (Drs. Catanzano, Cunningham and Neiland) who operate from two offices located in Portsmouth, UK and Montpellier, France. IDDRA has a wide portfolio of international clients including the World Bank, the European Union, the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and the UK Department for International Development (DFID), and undertakes projects and assignments principally in Africa, South and South-East Asia as well as throughout Europe. In 2007, IDDRA?s recent projects have included the on-going management of a marine fisheries development programme for the Government of Algeria, an assessment of international fishing agreements relating to African countries for the UN FAO and the development of a future planning framework for tuna fisheries for the Government of Maldives as part of the World Bank and FAO Post-Tsunami assistance efforts.
